Strategic and Results-Driven Approach
As a Director of Lusenga Inc., Sibusiso is committed to ensuring that legal advice translates into practical and implementable solutions.
He believes that effective legal representation requires more than identifying the applicable law. It requires understanding the client’s business, institutional environment, strategic objectives and risk exposure, and developing a legal strategy that responds to those realities.
His professional approach reflects the firm’s philosophy:
Understand the client. Understand the challenge. Develop the strategy. Deliver the result.
Through this approach, Sibusiso seeks to build enduring professional relationships and to position Lusenga Inc. not merely as a provider of legal services, but as a trusted legal and strategic partner to its clients.
In 2001, Ephraim graduated with an LLB degree from the University of Durban-Westville and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa on 14 April 2004.
He has since held a number of high-profile positions in both the private and public sectors and amassed experience that will benefit any client who retains his services.
While employed as a manager: Compliance and Legal Services Compliance, he drafted the current Social Housing Regulation and therefore understands the pillars forming the social housing legal and regulatory framework. He has also worked with and assisted most of the current SHI’s to gain accreditation with the SHRA and to understand the social housing legal, compliance and regulatory framework.
Ephraim specialises in Aviation Law, Social Housing, Strategy development, Evictions, Employment and Labour, Commercial Drafting, Civil, Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Property Law, International Law, Tax Law, Procurement and Supply Chain Law.
Social Housing and Regulatory Expertise
Ephraim has developed particular expertise in social housing law, regulation and compliance and has an in-depth understanding of the South African social housing regulatory environment.
His experience extends beyond the formulation of the regulatory framework to its practical application. He has worked with and assisted numerous Social Housing Institutions (SHIs) in matters relating to accreditation and regulatory compliance with the Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) and in developing an understanding of the legislative, governance, compliance and regulatory requirements applicable to the sector.
This combination of regulatory-development experience and practical implementation expertise gives Ephraim a distinctive understanding of the social housing environment from the perspectives of the regulator, regulated institutions and legal practitioner.
His social housing practice encompasses, among other areas, regulatory compliance, accreditation, governance, institutional restructuring, property-related matters, enforcement, evictions, contractual disputes and litigation.
Commercial, Corporate and Litigation Practice
Ephraim has substantial experience in civil, corporate and commercial litigation, advising clients on complex disputes and developing litigation strategies that take account of legal risk, commercial realities and the client’s broader strategic objectives.
His experience includes commercial drafting, contractual interpretation, dispute resolution, property law, evictions, procurement and supply chain management law, regulatory matters and corporate advisory work.
He approaches litigation as a strategic business and institutional tool rather than an end in itself. Where appropriate, consideration is given to negotiated resolution, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, while ensuring that clients’ rights and interests remain appropriately protected.
Aviation and Regulatory Law
Ephraim’s practice also encompasses aviation law, including legal and regulatory matters affecting organisations operating within highly regulated environments.
His broader experience in regulatory and administrative frameworks enables him to advise on matters involving the interaction between legislation, regulations, institutional mandates, governance obligations and operational requirements.
Strategy and Institutional Advisory
A distinguishing feature of Ephraim’s practice is his experience in strategy development and institutional advisory services.
Having worked at senior levels within both the public and private sectors, he understands that legal advice must be capable of implementation within the client’s operational and governance environment. His advice therefore considers not only legal compliance, but also institutional objectives, governance requirements, regulatory exposure, commercial considerations and long-term organisational sustainability.
